Established in the year 1959 by Mr.S.Thiagharajan, the present Chairman, known as the ‘Father of Ductile Iron’ in India. The Foundry was officially inaugurated by Sri. R.Venkataraman the then Minister of Industries of the State of Tamil Nadu and presided by Sri.K.Kamaraj, Chief Minister of the State of Tamil Nadu. Sri. R.Venkataraman then rose up to become the 8th President of India during the period 1987 to 1992.

The initial production of Grey Iron castings was done using Cupola. Later entered into a Technical Collaboration with International Mond Nickel Company of UK to manufacture Ductile Iron castings as it was a patented product. We then imported our first Electric Induction melting furnace from Sweden. One of the earliest in the country to have an Electric Induction Melting furnace.

Designed the manufacture of castings using the modulus principles from the very beginning. Understanding the importance of charge calculation and charge weighing we manufactured castings using these principles. Liquid metal is tapped with a crane weigher for accurately tapping the correct quantity of metal.

Specializing in the manufacture of all grades of Ductile Iron castings of low volume heavy weight high quality castings. 90% of the castings manufactured are of Radiographic quality.
